Getting started
What is AthlEAT?
AthlEAT is a nutrition app for youth athletes and the parents and coaches who feed them. You enter your athlete's age, sport, weight, dietary restrictions and schedule, and AthlEAT builds meal plans timed around their actual games and practices rather than a generic weekly template.
It's made by WABAM! LLC and is available on iPhone and Android.
Is AthlEAT for the parent or the athlete?
The parent, guardian or coach. Accounts are created and managed by adults, not by children directly. In practice the parent sets up the profile, syncs the calendar and does the shopping, while the athlete gets the benefit.
What ages does AthlEAT work for?
AthlEAT works for youth, high-school and college athletes. Because recommendations are generated from the athlete's age, weight, sport and training load, the guidance changes as they grow — you're not stuck with a plan built for a ten-year-old when they're fifteen, or with a high-school plan when they're training at the collegiate level.
Keep the profile's weight and sport current. Stale inputs produce stale recommendations.
How is AthlEAT different from a regular meal planning app?
Two things. First, timing: a general meal planner doesn't know your athlete has a 4:30 kickoff on Thursday, so it can't tell you when to eat, only what. AthlEAT reads the schedule and builds pre-event, during and post-event timelines around each event.
Second, the athlete: recommendations are generated per profile from age, sport, weight, intensity and dietary restrictions, rather than served from a single plan shared by every user.
What is the AI nutrition coach, and where does its guidance come from?
It's a chat feature you can ask questions of at any time — what to pack for a tournament, how to handle a late game, what to do when your athlete won't eat before a match.
Answers are grounded in published sports nutrition guidance from sources including ACSM, ISSN, NCAA and Team USA, and are shaped by the specific athlete profile you're asking about.
Schedules and calendars
The calendar sync is what makes the meal timing work, so this is usually the first thing to set up.
Which team calendars can I sync with AthlEAT?
AthlEAT syncs directly with:
- PlayMetrics
- TeamSnap
- SportsEngine
- LeagueApps
If your club uses something else, most platforms publish an ICS calendar link, and AthlEAT can read any ICS-compatible schedule. That covers the majority of league and club systems.
What if my club does not use any of those calendar platforms?
Look for an "export calendar", "subscribe" or "iCal feed" option in your club's platform — that produces an ICS link you can paste into AthlEAT. You can also add events manually if your schedule comes by email or text, which is common with smaller clubs and rec leagues.
How does AthlEAT decide when my athlete should eat?
It works backwards from the event start time. Once it knows when the game or practice begins and how demanding it is, it builds a timeline: what to eat in the hours before, what to take to the field, and what to eat afterwards for recovery.
An early Saturday tournament and a 7pm weeknight practice produce genuinely different plans, because the constraint isn't the food — it's the clock.
What happens when a game is rescheduled or cancelled?
Synced calendars update, so the plan follows the new time. You can also skip individual events and hide them from the AI coach, which is useful when your athlete sits out a session or the event on the calendar isn't one they're actually playing in.
Multiple athletes
Can I add more than one athlete to AthlEAT?
Yes. One subscription covers as many athlete profiles as you need, each with its own age, sport, weight and dietary restrictions.
There's no per-athlete charge, which is why it works for a family with three kids in three sports as well as it does for a coach managing a roster.
Do siblings in different sports get different plans?
Yes. Each profile is independent, so a swimmer and a hockey player in the same house get recommendations built for their own sport, schedule and body — even when they're eating at the same table.
Food and preferences
Can I set allergies and dietary restrictions in AthlEAT?
Yes, per athlete. Restrictions and food preferences are part of the profile, so they carry through every meal plan generated for that athlete rather than being something you filter out afterwards.
What if my athlete is a picky eater?
Tell the AI coach. When your athlete turns something down — or asks for something again — say so in the chat, and AthlEAT remembers it against that profile. Those likes and dislikes carry into future meal plans, so recommendations get more appealing the more you use it.
That makes the first couple of weeks the ones worth investing in. The more honestly you flag what got eaten and what came home untouched, the faster the plans stop suggesting food your athlete won't touch.
Does AthlEAT generate a grocery list?
Yes. Meal plans roll up into a consolidated list so you're shopping once for the week rather than working it out meal by meal on a Tuesday night.
Wearables
Which wearables connect to AthlEAT?
Whoop and Apple Health are live.
Google Health Connect and Fitbit are on the roadmap and are not yet available. Roadmap
What does wearable recovery data change in AthlEAT?
Metrics like HRV, recovery score, strain and sleep tell you how much load your athlete is carrying and how well they've recovered from it — which is information a calendar alone can't give you.
A hard week with poor sleep is a different fuelling situation from the same schedule after three good nights, and connecting a wearable lets that difference show up in the recommendations.
Subscription and billing
Pricing is always shown in the app at the point of purchase.
How do I cancel my AthlEAT subscription?
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- iPhone: manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings.
- Android: manage or cancel in your Google Play subscriptions.
Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Which devices does AthlEAT run on?
iPhone via the App Store and Android via Google Play. The app is designed mobile-first, on the assumption that you're checking it in a car park between practices rather than at a desk.
Privacy, kids and safety
Is AthlEAT medical or dietary advice?
No. AthlEAT is designed to support general sports nutrition education and planning. It is not a medical service and does not provide medical or clinical dietary advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider or Registered Dietitian for medical nutrition needs.
If you have concerns about your athlete's eating, growth, weight or energy levels, speak with their doctor or a Registered Dietitian before making changes.
Who creates an AthlEAT account, and can a child sign up themselves?
AthlEAT accounts are created and managed by parents, guardians or coaches, not by children directly. An athlete profile is something an adult sets up and controls.
What data does AthlEAT hold about my child?
Profile information you enter — age, sport, weight, dietary restrictions — plus the schedule you sync, so that recommendations can be generated for that athlete.
